Agricultural Biotechnology Center

Agricultural Biotechnology Centre, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya (AgBC) was established to facilitate and strengthen research, capacity building and generate marketable products through exploitation of molecular biology and biotechnology. It is important to note that AgBC is the only institution of its kind devoted to Agricultural Biotechnology in Sri Lanka.

Vision - To be a Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Biotechnology for research and outreach activities in Sri Lanka and the region.

Mission - To implement training and research in biotechnology based on national priorities and to serve as an outreach and service centre for national research and educational institutes as well as the private sector organizations, so as to serve the overall needs of the country and the region.

Center for Research in Oral Cancer

Description The Centre for Research in Oral Cancer (CROC) at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya was established to facilitate research in all aspects of oral cancer. The Centre works very closely with the National Cancer Control Programme of Sri Lanka.

Centre for Aquatic Animal Disease Diagnosis and Research

The Centre for Aquatic Animal Disease Diagnosis and Research was established in 2007 in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya in partnership with National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) of Sri Lanka, under the Asian Development Bank funded Aquatic Resource Development and Quality Improvement Project (ARDQIP) to provide services on aquatic animal disease diagnosis and to conduct research on fish health management.
